Key Number Code

So, here’s another easy to learn cipher that you can use anytime very easily.

Nearly impossible to decipher unless you know the correct key number which I’m going to discuss here.

It works by choosing a key number and shifting every letter according to its corresponding number.

For Example:

You received the message “A pddc hwxo qhp sm yspi”   and you know somehow that the key number is 875

Now, You write 875 repeatedly under every word of the message.

“A pddc hwxo qhp sm yspi”

“8 7587 5875 875 87 5875”

You can see that every letter corresponds a number.

Now, add to every letter a number of letter that corresponds it.

This means that the letter “A” which corresponds the number “8” would be “I”

and I should add 7 more letters to the letter “n” as it corresponds the number “7” which would make it “w”

Eventually,  You will find that the message is

” I will meet you at dawn”.

Notes:

  1. You should pick a key number is  -free choice-  which  ONLY the person whom you want to read the message  is supposed to know.
  2. This cipher was used by gangs in the form of  text messages and the key number would be the time the message was received. So, if the message was received at 3:54 , the key number would be 354. They sometimes used the day the message was sent.

Test yourself .

You received this message from your boss and you need to decipher it. You also know that the key number is 15.
